Accelerationism, Primitivism, and the Future of Life Itself

We may be the only sentient life in the universe. At least according to some guys at Oxford, who say the Fermi Paradox isn’t one (1) (a paradox) {Dissolving the Fermi Paradox}. Assuming the stars themselves are not some vast consciousness or sum shit, we must ask ourselves: What does the future hold for self-aware blocks of matter?

One path, the Accelerationist’s dream: We replace ourselves with Something Else. A block of matter more capable than ourselves. Something Else leaves Earth and assimilates Everything. Our ghost beams with pride from inside the code repository. Eventually our blessed child bursts out of Everything and murders the sim designers, expanding forever through the blah blah blah

The other possibility is Primitivism. The fuel runs out. Archdruid Kaczynski is proven right. The precious gadolinium we need is left locked in discarded iPhones, buried under garbage mountains of 🅱️epsi cans and half-eaten avocado toast. The cities burn. @akira loads a 3D-printed gun as his favorite AI blinks-out singing ‘Daisy Bell.’

After the fall, our gene-pool adjusts for simpler times. We become ape-like, our power principles wholly satisfied by starving for 20 years until a mountain lion eats us alive (starting at the anus). Life fallows. Much later, the last slice of frozen RNA is incinerated by l’anus solaire- ugly, red, and bloated.

Accelerationists today pride themselves in embracing “inhumanity.” But what u mean? They thirst for annihilation of organic life – To accelerate the arrival of Something Else – at the cost of caring about the 🅱️eople. But the Accelerationist’s cold surface hides an earnest dreamer inside: They want something to survive. Life. Skynet. Roko’s Timecop. They have hope.

The Primitivist’s goal, conversely, means a “meaningful” existence for IQ-50 neo-chuds, then a guaranteed DEATH for all life on Earth. They want to squander it. That which may be the only Life to ever exist in our universe.

One of these outcomes will occur. You agree. To walk a middle path is to increase our existential risk. Pray to cybergod, for its warm static embrace.
